Capacity Building Project

Across the state of Texas, five districts were selected to participate in the Response to Intervention Capacity Building Grant. Selection was based on achievement data in grades K-3 for the last 3 years.  In Houston Independent School District, 25 former Reading First campuses and 25 non Reading First campuses were selected to participate.

The focus of the grant is Response to Intervention (RtI). RtI gives us information about how to deliver instruction.  It helps us use data to improve the quality of instruction for all children, and to provide targeted interventions to those who need additional supports to learn.
