Dr. John Gasko oversees all of the statewide initiatives supported by the Children's Learning Institute, including the Texas Early Education Model (TEEM), School Readiness Certification System, Texas Reading First, Texas Head Start Collaboration Office, Texas Professional Development Higher Education Partnerships, and several pilot programs that support the early learning needs of English Language Learners.
Dr. Gasko previously served as the Director of Research and Public Policy for the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition (TECEC), a housed project of the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF), where he managed strategic early childhood education research initiatives, and helped to coordinate early childhood education legislative and policy efforts at the Texas Legislature and throughout the state. Dr. Gasko is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Foundations, Leadership, and Policy Studies at Hofstra University in New York City, where he teaches educational leadership courses to public school executive leadership cohorts via synchronous distance learning.
